Trained as an architect, Paul Hodgkinson is Executive Chairman of the Lincoln based award winning Simons Group Ltd., one of the larger privately-owned Construction, Development and Consultancy groups in the UK. Simons carry out projects for a limited number of blue chip customers in the Retail, Distribution and Health sectors together with mixed use town centre regeneration developments.
From October 2009 to April 2018 Paul was a NED Chair of Notting Hill Housing Trust. One of the largest registered providers of Social housing in the UK. He retired on the merger which formed the new Notting Hill Genesis, (NHG – No 5 in the UK/No 3 in London RSL by size)
He continues to chair a Project Board for NHG delivering the redevelopment of Canada Water in London.
He has recently taken on a role of Independent Consultant with St Brides Managers who specialise in real estate portfolios.
Paul is a Trustee of the Mental Health Foundation one of the main forces for preventative mental health research and application in the UK.
Paul was instrumental in raising funds and delivering the new Lincoln University in the city from 1991 onwards. The successful formation and raising of £32m from various sources led to the new formation of the University and the significant impact on the city’s economic wellbeing.
He has also been active in the East Midlands as a member of the CBI and BITC for the last 30 years.
Paul was awarded a CBE in the Queens Honours list in 2001 for his contribution to business.
Paul and his wife Cathy Giangrande have two adult sons. His hobbies include painting, reading, Rugby and walking.
